La Rocca Creative Kitchen
La Rocca Creative Cakes, established in Canada in 1986, has evolved into one of the premier artisanal dessert manufacturers in North America. We were engaged by La Rocca Creative Cakes to spearhead their rebranding initiative in anticipation of the debut of their new physical bakeshop—La Rocca Creative Kitchen—which was to target a younger audience.
La Rocca Creative Kitchen wanted to convey the innovative approach to dessert development while highlighting the company's esteemed position within the industry. We were tasked with establishing a distinct brand identity separate from competitors and to devise a comprehensive branding strategy encompassing brand identity and packaging design.
Through visits to La Rocca's central kitchen and discussions with its staff, we were able to gain insight into the company's innovative baking techniques. This exploration sparked inspiration from the tangram puzzle, drawing parallels between the creative baking process and the puzzle-solving experience, where each element contributes to crafting a harmonious composition.
Building upon this concept, a brand identity system was crafted based on the geometric shapes of the tangram puzzle, from which a series of icons were derived. This thematic approach was extended to the packaging design, incorporating an interlocking two-phase closure mechanism to enhance the overall intrigue. The result was an unboxing experience that showcased each dessert as a masterpiece—an embodiment of meticulous thought, passion, and creativity.
