Oath Overnight Oats


Oath Overnight Oats is a Canadian health food and lifestyle brand offering a nutritious and delicious overnight oats product. Overnight oats vary from traditional oatmeal in that they are not meant to be cooked.

We were approached to develop a graphic packaging solution that positions overnight oats as a nutritious, convenient, and superior alternative to regular oatmeal.

Inspiration for the brand name Oath was drawn from the methodical and routine based nature of preparing and storing overnight oats. The idea of a certain amount of lead time being required before being able to enjoy the oats seemed like a kind of schedule would need to be followed. This brought to mind images of calendars and agendas, but also of mentally willing yourself each night to prepare for the next day - in perpetuity.

Imagery for the Oath brand was inspired by watercolour paintings, Matisse cut-outs, and the humble cereal bowl– all meant to help push the visual language of cold-soaking your oats and preparing them with whatever additional toppings or flourishes you'd like.

If a bowl is your canvas, the food you fill it with is your painting.
